Get Involved

We need your help to raise our last bit of startup funding so we can open in the Iron District this spring.

Hello! And thank you for stopping by to learn more about our big dream and how you can help!

We received a great response to our recent Kickstarter campaign, raising nearly $11,000 in pledged support, but unfortunately we didn’t reach our full goal which means we didn’t get to keep the funds we raised. Now, we’re asking for your help to recapture a portion of those funds and help cover final startup expenses and get open.

When you support Kind Food, you are helping . . .

  • Increase local access to nutritious plant-based food

  • Reduce the environmental impact of our local food system

  • Create new opportunities to support local non-profit organizations

Help us hit our goal by May 1st

Make a contribution by purchasing a gift card, merchandise or supporter bundle — all proceeds go to our startup fund.
You can also make a direct donation.

We believe in good food and kindness for all.

If you're short on time, the bullets below summarize what we're about and why we're here. (If you have a little more time, we've included more detailed info below including more about our location and the merch we have ready for our supporters!)

  • We make really yummy food that is good for people and the planet. That means a 100% plant-based menu, fresh ingredients—locally sourced when available—earth friendly packaging and smart resource management.

  • We strive to spread kindness—in our local community and around the world. That starts at the counter and flows into supporting community causes, organizing volunteers, and being a voice and example in the industry.

  • We've been working hard to make this dream a reality—pouring our heart and soul (and money) into building Kind Food—so far thru pop up events and catering. We're slated to join the Iron District full time late spring 2019.

  • Launching a food concept is a big project and we need your help to fill our funding gap! With your support, we will be able to fund some final startup costs. This will allow us to reach Open and ultimately increase our odds of success.

  • We have a range of great support options for you including gift cards, merch, membership, supporter bundles and event tickets. All proceeds from the sale of these items goes directly toward our startup goal. You also have the option to simply make a direct donation to the fund.

  • Your support matters. We've only made it this far because you've shown up for us at events and online. It is so exciting to see the community rally around the idea of good food mixed with kindness. Now we need your support to help see us thru to Open.

  • THANK YOU! Contribute if you can, share this page with your network, and let's all spread some kindness together. Every bit counts!

You guys are amazing. We are so grateful for the support you've already shown Kind Food and we can't wait to bring new plant-based options and heaps of kindness to Kansas City.

Sincerely, truly, gratefully,
Phillip & Jonelle Jones

Our Space in the Iron District

1599 Iron Street, North Kansas City, Missouri
Currently under construction.

Since our launch, we've had our sights set on joining the new Iron District development in North Kansas City this spring. The Iron District is an outdoor food hall concept featuring 5 food vendors, a full bar, a coffee shop, several local micro-retailers, a stage for live music and outdoor seating. The space will utilize converted shipping containers and bring a fun, food truck festival feel to the community every day.

Each food vendor will work out of a converted shipping container, set up much like a stationary food truck.

The Iron District is currently under development and scheduled to open this spring, estimated mid- to late-May 2019. Stay tuned here and on our social channels for updates and an official grand opening date announcement!

Because the Iron District is outdoors, our hours will be seasonal. We anticipate our open season to be from March thru December, but we will be open as long as the weather permits. In the off-season months, we will continue offering catering and will schedule special events as the weather permits.
